I’m Caeden Morris, and I build websites for small businesses.

This started as a way to earn on the side. I taught myself to build websites, took on a couple of real projects to find out whether I was any good at it, and discovered I liked the work more than anything else I was doing. A few months in, it has turned into something I take seriously and intend to keep doing.

I am not going to dress that up. I have been at this months rather than years, and I would rather you hear it from me than find out later and wonder what else I glossed over. What I can tell you is that every site I have built is one I would put my name on, and that the businesses running on them are real businesses with real customers.

Why the price is $300

An agency quoting you $3,000 is not necessarily overcharging. They are covering a project manager, a designer, a developer, an account rep, an office and a sales team — and those people all have to be paid before anyone writes a line of code.

I have none of that. It is me, and the work. So the price reflects what the work actually costs to do rather than what it costs to run a company around it. You get the same thing at the end: a real website, custom-built for your business, that looks like you paid a lot more for it.

Why I design it before you pay

Most designers ask you to trust a portfolio and put money down first. I would rather remove that step entirely.

So I design your home page before you owe me anything. If you like it, we keep going and it costs $300. If you don’t, you have lost nothing and I have learned something. That offer is open to anyone who asks — I do not screen people or ask for a budget first.

It is a better deal for you, and it keeps me honest. If the work is not good enough to win you over on its own, I have not earned the job.

How I work

• You deal with me directly. Not a sales rep, not an account manager, and not a different person every time you call.
• I answer the same day. Anything that reaches me before 8pm gets a response that day.
• I keep going until it’s right. Unlimited revisions during the build, included, with no per-change fee.
• Plain language, always. You should never have to decode a technical explanation to understand what you are paying for.
• The site is yours. No lock-in, no monthly fee required, and nothing held hostage if you decide to move on.

Where I work

Birmingham is home, and I am glad to meet locally over coffee if that is easier for you. But none of this actually requires being in the same room. I have built and launched a site for a business in Fairfield, Texas without meeting them once — calls, texts and emails covered all of it.

Auto detailing is the industry I know best and the one I most enjoy building for. That said, most of my work is with local businesses of every kind, and whatever you run, you are welcome to ask.
